Tip 1. Add YouTube subscribe button to your videos

Create or download an animation that tells people to subscribe to your videos. Add it to your video as a watermark. When viewers watch your videos they might click the graphic to subscribe!

Tip 2. Identify which videos attract the most subscribers

If you already have some videos on your channel it wouldn’t hurt you to check out which video attracted the most new subscribers. You can find this data in your YouTube analytics under ‘subscribers by video’.

Tip 3. Place a YouTube subscribe link in your Video descriptions

The description box below your video isn’t only for explaining your video. It is also the best place to put a subscription link! It is super easy to create a subscription link. You just need to copy your channel’s URL and add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of the URL.

Tip 4. Post on set times

Another important thing is to post in set times. Research shows that the most subscribers are gained within two time frames. The first time frame is from 11 AM to 1PM and the second one is from 4PM to 6 PM.

Tip 5. Look for keywords that attract your preferred audiences

YouTube keywords are the foundation of every great channel. They’re also the best way to generate traffic to your videos. Adding relevant keywords to your title or video description will help you to grow your channel, and subscribers, super fast!

There is no initial fee to be in the YPP (YouTube Partner Program) but YouTube will take a cut of your earnings.

The main way to make money on YouTube might seem pretty simple: just join the YPP! But, to start making money by adverts you do need to tick all the boxes:

  • You need to live in a country where they already have the YouTube Partner Program
  • You have to have a channel with a minimum of a 1000 subscribers
  • You need to reach at least 4000 hours of watch time in the past 12 months
  • You have to have an active Google Ads account that is linked to your YouTube account
  • Your channel can’t have any Community Guidelines Strikes
  • You have to follow all the YouTube monetization policies
  • And last, but not least, make sure you have enabled two-step verification on the Google account that is linked to your YouTube account.

When you meet all you can go and sign up for the YPP. Go to ‘YouTube Studio’ and click monetization in the left navigation bar. If the button down below isn’t blue yet that means you can’t sign up just yet. Then click ‘notify me when I’m eligible’. When you’ve applied, just sit tight. It will take almost 30 days (or even more) to review your channel because it will be reviewed manually by a YouTube employee.

When you’ve been reviewed you can start making money! But try to avoid copyright claims and takedowns.
